Summer Prints

Good Morning. Even I thought of pretty floral dresses when I read the title of this post. But in this case, the prints are woodblocks, which had to wait until the garden had settled in and a rainy day gave way to a nice work session in the tiny print studio at home. In this photo you can see the wheel of the Ray Trayle printing press.

These images are from our friend and neighbor's tree farm.

One of the benefits of visiting this place are the apples, the sturdy row of Spartans gave plenty of extras enough for everyone, even the deer. The sun was shining through the trees and made a wonderful pattern of lights and darks.

This is the block (Shina plywood from McClain's Printmaking Supplies)
It's hard to say exactly how long this took to carve -- it's 8" x 10", maybe a total of 15 hours? mas o menos.

Here is the print:

An edition of twenty. 'Apples for the Teachers' 2019
Gamblin Artist's Printmaking Ink, Sepia.
